The maximum single module size of the JFM Tunnel Ventilation Fire Damper has now been increased from 2100mm x 2100mm to 2200mm x 2500mm. This new larger damper module has recently been tested at Exova (Warrington Fire Research Center) in the UK. The tests  consisted of a high temperature operation test at 250 deg C for 2 hours and a 4 hour fire integrity test in accordance with BS 476 Part 20.  The damper successfully passed both tests which further proves the performance of the JFM in a fire scenario. The damper was tested together with a Hytork pneumatic actuator. This further increases the range of actuator options available with the JFM. This development will be of benefit as it will enable larger dampers to be constructed from less modules which will reduce the quantity of actuators and limit switches required. This will in turn increase the free area available and reduce installation time and cost.
