Trox has recently developed a new fire damper for marine and offshore applications which meets the latest SOLAS requirements for fire integrity and insulation.
The JFD is a multi-leaf fire and gas damper. The material for the aerofoil opposed blades and damper casing can be either in Galvanized Mild Steel or Stainless Steel grades 304 and Stainless Steel 316. The actuator is available in pneumatic type or electric type with fusible link. Other control options include limit switches, solenoid valve, quick exhaust valve, junction box, controls enclosure which are suitable for hazardous area application if required. This damper has been successfully tested for class A-60 divisions for the both bulkhead and deck applications using the specified maximum and minimum module size in compliance with the IMO A754 Fire Test Procedure Code, Annex 1, Part 3.
